Student High School Graduation Year Non-Credit Course: Online Algebra Review is open to all students who have completed a first year Algebra course and are seeking to review concepts before taking Algebra 2 or Pre-Calculus.

Topics will include linear equations and systems, quadratics, rational functions, roots, and exponents. Problem-solving and proper writing of math will be emphasized. Students must be able and willing to manage time effectively to complete problem sets and assessments. Age Requirement : Rising 8th - 11th Graders.

Dates and Times : June 14 - Aug 6 8-weeks. Six modules should be completed over the course of the 8 weeks. Credit Course: Pre-Calculus students study polynomial functions, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions, and inverse trigonometric functions.

Polar functions and their graphs are examined in the second semester as are basic probability and statistics. Graphing techniques and applications are emphasized, and graphing calculators are used throughout the course. The study of trigonometry includes the graphs of trigonometric functions and their inverses, the Laws of Sines and Cosines, equations, identities, multiple-angle formulas and radian measure. Prerequisite: Algebra II.

Age Requirement: Rising 10th - 12th Graders. Our extensive in-print and online coursework supports students with a comprehensive review of every rule and strategy necessary for test-taking success.

Non-Credit Course: STEP offers students entering Grades 6 — 9 the chance to brush up on academic skills, further develop math and writing foundations, and explore new interests. Participants choose their track of interest and engage in fun, dynamic enrichment workshops that will have them learning and exploring! Age Requirement: Rising 6th - 9th Graders. All students are expected to adhere to the academic and personal standards of conduct and behavior as outlined in the Sidwell Friends Handbook for Parents and Students. A copy of the handbook is available upon request. Absences: If a student will be absent please call the Upper School Office by am on the morning of the absence. Students may be permitted to make up work missed during excused absences. Conduct: Students are expected to uphold the traditions of an academic community in which all members accept responsibility to do their own work and to give credit to sources that they use.

They are expected to respect the Sidwell Friends Honor Code which does not tolerate lying or cheating. Students are expected to be in compliance at all times with generally accepted standards of behavior. Stealing, damaging, or destroying the property of any member of the school community, as well as the school itself, will not be tolerated. Students who are found to be responsible for such actions will be liable for the cost of repairing or replacing the items involved and will be subject to disciplinary action, which, at the discretion of the Director of Summer Studies, may include expulsion from the program.

These non-refundable fees go towards the costs associated with programming every summer to give your campers the best experience we can! If any changes occur AFTER May 13th, any amount paid toward a canceled week will remain in your account for any future registrations and will roll over to the following season.

Pre-registration opens on July 1st and will end on September 1st. Standard registration will be available starting September 2nd. There is no limit to who can pre-register for ! We truly believe this is the BEST time to register, so tell all your friends and family!
