These 03 series instruments were originally made in their Vancouver factory. This is a great sounding, beautiful guitar. Its a Jumbo body shape, which is not something you see often from Larrivee. In fact, I called and asked them about the guitar and was told that Jumbos are only available by custom order now.

This guitar features a Sitka spruce top and genuine mahogany not sapele back. Sides and neck confirmed by Larrivee, hence the MH designation in the model number. Its in great shape aside from one tiny problem by the strap button. The original hole for the strap button was drilled at a bad angle. This L just has the classic satin finish and black binding for a classic D type of look. All Larrivee's come standard with features usually only in high end guitars of other brands like an ebony fretboard and a dovetail neck joint. All the wood on this one looks beautiful. None in particular to point out. Low action, minimal fret wear. Comes with nice Larrivee hardshell case.

All Solid wood Construction. This is a fantastic offer at a deep discount. I bought this guitar brand new in november. The voice of this 12 fret Slope Shoulder Dreadnought is nothing short of explosive. The top is Sitka Spruce with a very pretty grain and nice dark amber from two years of age. The sides and back are mahogany with maple binding and boot. The neck is solid mahogany with a truss rod of course. I use a traditional guitar strap that loops around the bottom of the headstock so there is NO strap button drilled I feel this is worth mentioning because many artists prefer to choose where that hole should go.

It has an ebony fretboard with micro dot inlay. Ebony bridge and a very pretty ebony veneer on the paddle headstock. The Larrivee logo is inlaid on the headstock which is the traditional squared style.

It has a herringbone rosette and ivoroid neck binding with ivoroid heel cap. These are nice finishing touches. The instrument will ship with the original chrome tuner buttons.

I use Elixir light strings because that's what I like. But mediums would better suit this model. The condition is very good. The finish above the 18th fret is rubbed shiny from my thumb.

I rarely use a pick If you hold the guitar up to the light you can see some scuffs from where it has been strummed with a pick on the pickguard and a little on the top. On the back of the guitar on the lower bout there is a small crack near the binding where I bumped it on the leg of my desk. It's difficult to see. But I know some people need to see fo. This is a very nice Larrivee D 50 acoustic.

It is loud with a great balanced tone. It is in very good condition. There are slight signs of use but nothing out of the ordinary. This guitar was made around so it is right about 10 years old. The frets are in great shape. No cracks and no repairs. This one is ready to play out of the case. There are no issues with this guitar. What a story on this one. It was originally listed but then removed when a very narrow crack was discovered along the top.

It was sold almost immediately in this stated condition but was damaged in shipping. The buyer requested a refund and sent back the guitar. The is a fracture in the neck where it meets the headstock. What an incredible bummer. I don't have the resources to fix this guitar properly but there seems to be a large fan base for these guitars.

Surely someone out there will take the initiative to bring this guitar back to it's very deserving level of excellence. Here's the good news. The guitar is in otherwise very. Very good condition. Incredible workmanship throughout. Original case. Other than what has already been mentioned there are no points of concern other than some Up for sale is a gently used Larrivee PR parlor guitar. It is in super condition. No scratches. Messages 5, I settled on a Collings, but Larivee was a close second, and came in better to me than the Martins and Taylors that I also tried.

I picked up the om60 today and it is a beautiful instrument. The strings need changing and it currently has mediums. Any opinions on string gauge and brand. I spend more time strumming than finger style. Messages 6, Timcito Member. Messages 10, The OM is constructed for medium gauge strings, right? If you like lights, I would recommend trying it with lights before buying.

I once bought an SD that sounded fantastic with mediums but weak with lights. My fingers don't like mediums, and I had to sell it. If the OM is like the SD and 60, it will need mediums to adequately drive the top. The mediums aren't rough to play just looking for opinions on ideas and experience with those who have found what they like.

I hope to hear your opinion when you change the strings in your OM Enjoy your new guitar! Definitely Mediums. I tried lights on my OM70 and it lost quite a bit of volume and projection. I prefer John Pearse PB's. Tomorrow is string change day and a complete cleaning an polishing. Will post results tomorrow. String change comments??? The EXP Mediums sound nice. Very balanced and a bit warm which I guess is to be expected. I will try another set once I give these a bit of a chance.

Messages 1, I've tried the cleartones and thought they were okay felt like regular strings, but also went dull about as quickly as regular strings , tried the EXP's and hated them they were dull sounding from the get go and I took them off three days later , but am currently using Elixir phosphor bronze nanowebs and love them. They have a great feel if you like slick feeling strings and they sound bright yet with good fullness as well.
